Requirements
  • Fluency in English (speaking, reading, writing)
  • A master’s degree in public health or equivalent degree is required
  • Experience in infectious diseases, antimicrobial resistance and antibiotic stewardship required
  • Strong project management, organizational, interpersonal, and communication (verbal and written) skills are required
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently at times as well as a member of a team
  • Proficient use of relevant computer programs including the MS Office standard suite of programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
Responsibilities
  • Engage state Medicaid Offices and provide technical assistance for collaboration leveraging antibiotic use data to identify and implement antibiotic stewardship activities.
  • Establish mechanisms that support connections and communication between state health departments working with Medicaid offices.
  • Develop a toolkit on improving antibiotic use through engagement with Medicaid agencies highlighting data-driven outpatient antibiotic stewardship activities based on successful Medicaid examples, Medicaid data analyses, and quality metrics.
  • Maintain regular communications and ensure coordination between CDC offices, state partners and other relevant stakeholders, including coordination of meetings.
  • Draft scientific abstracts based on Medicaid antibiotic use data analyses and describing collaboration.
  • Conduct monitoring and evaluation to establish targeted outcomes and measure progress.
  • Participate in additional activities and other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • At least five years of public health experience preferred
  • Experience working with state Medicaid programs, specifically AK, OR, MN, TN, CO, SC and NE, preferred
  • Strong descriptive analytic skills and experience with antibiotic use data desired
