Requirements
- General knowledge of the construction industry and the roof truss design process.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural blueprints.
- Ability to calculate tributary loads, concentrated loads, and load transfer through a building.
- Ability to operate a computer and the current software used by the company.
- Knowledge of current local codes associated with truss design.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to read, understand, and follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to deal courteously with customers, co-workers, and construction personnel.
- Good mathematics skills, including architectural units, fractions, geometry, and basic trigonometry.
- Computer skills using word processing, design, internet, and database software.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; write simple correspondence; and present information effectively one-on-one.
- Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out written, oral, or diagram-based instructions and deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Responsibilities
- Read architectural prints to create roof truss placement layouts.
- Design roof trusses in engineering software, ensuring designs are accurate, optimized, and conform to current policies and procedures.
- Provide customer support when necessary.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with MiTek software.
