Requirements
  • A Bachelor's Degree in business, energy, communication, or related studies is required, with one year of professional experience substitutable for each year of education.
  • At least one year of professional work experience is required.
  • The candidate must have a clear and clean driving record and pass a drug and background check.
  • The candidate must have basic mechanical skills and be able to lift boxes weighing no more than 30 pounds, climb stairs and ladders, drive, walk, stand, and perform overhead arm movements.
  • The candidate must have a reliable vehicle for local travel.
Responsibilities
  • Conduct quality assurance and quality control assessments in residential homes in accordance with program guidelines.
  • Complete detailed and accurate field inspections verifying quantities and technologies against utility rebate applications.
  • Interact with contractors and homeowners, answer questions about energy efficiency, and identify additional energy savings opportunities.
  • Contribute to the evolution of program strategies and the design of program features and services.
  • Contribute to the deployment of program marketing and outreach campaigns.
  • Coordinate or schedule quality assurance and quality control activities, including field inspections.
  • Prepare summary reports identifying additional opportunities found during quality control visits.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience working with Maryland Home Improvement Commission-licensed companies.
  • Experience in energy efficiency, preferably with an understanding of residential construction.
  • Ability to promote energy efficiency practices in the residential sector.
  • Experience performing residential inspections.
  • Experience with energy efficiency technologies and practices.
  • Experience working on successful energy efficiency programs.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Customer service or sales conversion experience.
