What believers are saying

  • Signatera commercial launch in Japan by end of 2026 targets over 150,000 annual colorectal cancer diagnoses.
  • Oncology testing volumes grew 54% year-over-year in Q1 2026, driven by Signatera adoption by 50% of US oncologists.
  • Natera secured third NCCN guideline recognition for bladder cancer, strengthening market position and reimbursement access.

What critics are saying

  • Tumor-naïve MRD competitors like Guardant Reveal threaten Signatera’s 80% market share with faster, cheaper alternatives in 12–18 months.
  • Medicare reimbursement cuts for tumor-informed MRD tests may force 20–30% price reductions on Signatera within 6–12 months.
  • Eledon Phase 3 trial failure using Prospera could collapse Natera’s 600-patient transplant momentum and eliminate 2026 revenue projections.

What makes Natera unique

  • Signatera is the first PMDA-approved MRD test in Japan for colorectal cancer.
  • Signatera is the only FDA-approved companion diagnostic for minimal residual disease testing in the US.
  • Natera’s tumor-informed, phased variant technology enables detection down to 0.1 PPM, outperforming most competitors.

Signatera receives major regulatory milestone in Europe.

Signatera receives major regulatory milestone in Europe. Advances in cancer care don't always come in the form of a new treatment. Sometimes they come from better ways to monitor cancer and help guide decisions throughout a patient's journey. Recently, Natera announced that its personalized molecular residual disease (MRD) test, Signatera(TM), has received certification under the European Union's In Vitro Diagnostic Regulation (IVDR). This makes Signatera the first personalized MRD test for solid tumors to receive this certification in the European Union. The milestone follows two other significant achievements this year: becoming the first PMDA-approved MRD test in Japan and the first FDA-approved personalized MRD test to help guide treatment decisions in the United States. So, what does that actually mean? MRD testing looks for tiny amounts of circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) that may remain in the body after cancer treatment. In some cancers, these tests can help physicians monitor for recurrence, assess how well treatment is working, and make more informed decisions about a patient's care. Signatera is a personalized blood test, meaning it is designed using the unique genetic makeup of an individual's tumor. The new IVDR certification means Signatera has met the European Union's rigorous standards for safety, quality, and clinical performance. It also helps make the test more accessible for clinical trials and patients throughout Europe while supporting continued research into personalized cancer care. For the testicular cancer community, this news is especially meaningful because ctDNA and MRD testing continue to be an exciting area of research. At TCAF, Testicular Cancer Awareness Foundation has previously shared information about how Signatera is being studied as a personalized surveillance tool for detecting relapse in testicular cancer. Research has shown its potential to identify recurrence earlier than traditional tumor markers in some patients, though additional studies are ongoing. While MRD testing is not currently considered standard of care for testicular cancer, researchers continue to explore how these technologies may improve surveillance and help inform treatment decisions in the future. At the Testicular Cancer Awareness Foundation, Testicular Cancer Awareness Foundation is committed to keeping its community informed about meaningful developments in cancer research and care. Natera has been a valued partner of TCAF, supporting its mission to educate, raise awareness, and empower patients and survivors. While this announcement extends beyond testicular cancer specifically, it represents another step forward in the growing field of personalized medicine. Testicular Cancer Awareness Foundation'll continue sharing research and innovations that may help shape the future of cancer care and what they could mean for the testicular cancer community. To learn more about this announcement, read the full news release from Natera. Assessing Natera (NTRA) valuation after new Signatera breast cancer study results.

Assessing Natera (NTRA) valuation after new Signatera breast cancer study results. April 04, 2026 Why the latest Signatera study matters for Natera (NTRA) shareholders. Natera (NTRA) is back in focus after publishing new Clinical Cancer Research data on its Signatera test, showing how older women with early stage ER+/HER2- breast cancer might be treated with endocrine therapy alone. The prospective study followed women aged 70 and above who chose to skip surgery and receive primary endocrine therapy, with Signatera used regularly alongside imaging and physician assessments to track molecular residual disease and inform care decisions. The new Signatera data lands after a volatile stretch for Natera, with the share price at US$207.98, a 7 day share price return of 13.87% and a 90 day share price return decline of 9.12%, alongside a 1 year total shareholder return of 55.36% and a 3 year total shareholder return of about 3x. This combination of metrics suggests that recent momentum has cooled compared with the longer term record. If this kind of healthcare technology story interests you, it could be worth widening your search to other potential opportunities using the 36 healthcare AI stocks With Natera trading at US$207.98, carrying a value score of 4 and flagged as trading below some intrinsic estimates, the real question is whether you are seeing a genuine mispricing or a market that is already factoring in future growth. On the most followed narrative, Natera's fair value of $260.65 sits well above the $207.98 last close, putting a lot of weight on long term execution. Investment in new product launches (e.g., Fetal Focus NIPT, Signatera Genome, AI-based biomarkers) and a robust R&D pipeline positions Natera to capture growth from long-term trends in personalized medicine and early detection, underpinning future revenue expansion. Curious what earnings, revenue growth, and margin profile are baked into that gap between price and fair value? The narrative leans on bold compounding assumptions and premium future multiples that many investors will want to scrutinize closely. Result: Fair Value of $260.65 (UNDERVALUED) However, there are clear pressure points here, including ongoing net losses of $208.16m and heavy R&D and SG&A spend that could delay any path to profitability. Next steps. With the story so mixed, it makes sense to look at the full picture yourself and act while sentiment is still shifting. Start with the 3 key rewards. Looking for more investment ideas?
