Requirements
  • Strong working knowledge of current technologies appropriate to the area of instruction and compliance with faculty credential requirements.
  • A bachelor's degree in accounting and either an active Certified Public Accountant certification or both an in-field professional certification and two years of experience in the field.
Responsibilities
  • Oversee the Accounting and Office Administration and Technologies programs and campus and academic initiatives related to those programs.
  • Manage enrollment, program administration, instructional quality, and human resource management for the designated academic programs.
  • Deliver assigned classes using pedagogy and technology that support student learning and align with course objectives and program learning outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain curriculum and supporting course materials.
  • Maintain student records, attendance, grades, and required documentation.
  • Manage a classroom environment conducive to student learning and compliant with applicable safety standards and practices.
  • Facilitate student achievement of expected program learning outcomes.
  • Use a Learning Management System such as Canvas for teaching, learning, assessment, and communication.
  • Provide academic coaching and monitoring to assigned student advisees in partnership with professional academic advising staff.
  • Monitor and document student performance, provide interventions, communicate with students, arrange tutoring and academic supports, and make referrals to college resources.
  • Maintain required office hours and student engagement hours.
  • Promote and assist in student recruitment, retention, and successful program completion.
  • Participate in professional development, scholarly activities, and training that advance instructional, technical, and discipline-specific knowledge.
  • Stay current in contemporary pedagogy, digital technology, and technology used to support student learning.
  • Participate in community service and develop community, industry, and business contacts.
  • Provide institutional support through committees, task forces, accreditation projects, and grant-related projects.
  • Support and engage with Corporate College and Development.
  • Attend commencement and college, campus-wide, departmental, division, and faculty meetings as assigned.
  • Participate in career service and alumni activities and adhere to college and campus academic policies.
  • Review and analyze program completion and retention data and lead action steps to improve retention.
  • Support development of student internships and other real-work experiences.
  • Assure the quality of discipline-specific dual-credit courses in local high schools.
  • Create course schedules that support student learning and access and maximize classroom and laboratory utilization.
  • Complete the annual Program Review, including analysis of trend data and resources.
  • Coordinate with employers, economic-sector experts, deans, vice presidents, and the statewide curriculum committee to maintain relevant, market-driven curriculum.
  • Maintain required office administrative hours.
  • Coordinate program advisory committees and ensure broad-based membership and participatory agendas.
  • Oversee equipment purchases, maintenance, and supplies for instructional laboratories when applicable.
  • Coordinate recruitment, evaluation, and development of full-time and adjunct faculty with Human Resources and the Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs or designee.
  • Review and respond to faculty, staff, and student issues.
