Requirements
  • Previous experience in luxury hospitality sales is strongly preferred.
  • Strong prospecting and contract negotiation skills are required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel, are required.
  • Excellent presentation skills are required.
  • The ability to be highly organized, results-oriented, flexible, and effective under pressure is required.
  • A four-year degree from an accredited college or university is required, preferably in a hospitality-related field.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • The role requires constant standing, walking, and sitting throughout the shift.
  • The role requires lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 20 pounds.
Responsibilities
  • Handle all aspects of sales for groups of 8 to 75 rooms on peak night in the assigned market.
  • Develop and maintain the customer base in all assigned markets.
  • Achieve or exceed personal monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals through account development and maintenance.
  • Attend sales meetings, office events, hotel-sponsored functions, and industry functions, including events that may involve overnight travel.
  • Develop lead sources and rapport with key personnel, Fairmont Global Sales Office sellers, and the assigned client base.
  • Maintain active membership in industry-related organizations and associations pertaining to the specific market.
  • Support the goals, objectives, and philosophies of the brand and the Fairmont Washington, DC, while providing professional, engaging, and proactive guest service and supporting colleagues.
  • Support the ALL—Accor Live Limitless loyalty program and ALL Meeting Planner loyalty program through product knowledge and member enrollments.
  • Identify and execute key action steps each quarter to achieve booking goals.
  • Work directly with the Director of Sales and Director of Revenue Management to meet and exceed budgeted group room rates.
  • Actively target and solicit new business within the assigned territory.
  • Stay familiar with industry trends through appropriate publications and trade memberships when necessary.
  • Think strategically and maximize group potential over required periods, including use of meeting space for meetings and events and arrival and departure patterns that fit hotel business needs.
  • Follow up on leads in a timely and professional manner within the respective territory by telephone and written correspondence.
  • Fully qualify each group business opportunity to understand the full potential of the booking and account.
  • Develop and maintain close and effective working relationships with all supporting departments.
  • Coordinate with convention services on groups involving rooms and banquet revenue, adhering to Fairmont brand sales standards and providing accurate, comprehensive turnover reports.
  • Participate in applicable Fairmont sales training workshops and achieve acceptable shop scores according to company standards.
  • Participate in assigned Fairmont brand sales events and trade shows, including event preparation, client invitations, and event facilitation.
  • Conduct ongoing sales calls to clients in the assigned territory, including overnight travel that may involve weekends.
