The Senior Transactor - Loan Syndications (Director) will be responsible for originating, structuring and executing syndicated loan facilities for Citi Commercial Bank’s clients. The role will be based in New York.
Responsibilities:
• Actively originates new deal opportunities with pitch materials incorporating an analysis of capital structure, credit profile, market comparables, and industry research
• Partners with bankers to meet with clients and prospects to develop enduring relationships
• Leverages deep market and industry knowledge to drive dialog with clients; provides advice, proposes compelling solutions, and converts pitches to mandates
• Works with partners to help shepherd internal approvals; articulates syndication strategies
• Leads the deal team during the execution of mandates including negotiating commitment letters, preparing marketing materials, orchestrating bank meetings, coordinating with the sales team for investor interaction, negotiating legal documentation and managing an efficient closing process
• Develops strong partnerships with internal constituents including senior decision makers within the Risk, Coverage, and Investment Banking teams; maintains a high level of credibility with key stakeholders
• Exhibits strong business and credit judgment to provide balanced assessments of transactions, working with internal team members and partners. Leverages strong credit skills to identify and mitigate key risks that could impact the transactions’ execution
• Provides coaching opportunities and acts as a mentor for junior talent
• Ensures that the organization’s activities are carried out in accordance with all regulatory, legal, and governmental regulations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum 15 years of loan syndication or leveraged finance experience
- Strong financial, credit, analytical skills and an ability to rapidly assimilate complex information
- Self-starter, high level of energy, enthusiasm and motivation
- Team player, able to facilitate strong partnerships
