Requirements
  • Qualified electrician or Electrical Engineering qualification.
  • Experience working with low-voltage and/or medium-voltage electrical switchgear systems.
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills across power distribution systems.
  • Experience carrying out electrical maintenance and planned preventative maintenance activities.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, protection drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Familiarity with electrical isolation procedures and safe systems of work.
  • Full clean driving licence.
  • Strong communication and customer-facing skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage site-based activities.
Responsibilities
  • Carry out routine maintenance and inspection of low-voltage and medium-voltage electrical switchgear systems.
  • Perform planned preventative maintenance activities in line with customer contracts and company standards.
  • Conduct testing, servicing, and reporting on low-voltage and medium-voltage distribution equipment.
  • Support production relay testing, breaker maintenance, insulation testing, and functional verification activities where applicable.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with relevant regulations, procedures, and switching controls.
  • Respond to customer breakdowns and emergency callouts when required.
  • Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults within low-voltage and medium-voltage switchgear systems.
  • Identify root causes and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Provide technical support to customers during outage or fault conditions.
  • Support safe isolation, switching operations, and restoration of electrical systems where authorised.
  • Assist with project planning, site surveys, shutdown coordination, switching schedules, and commissioning activities.
  • Liaise with internal teams, subcontractors, and customers to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Maintain accurate technical documentation, test records, and service reports.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers.
  • Identify opportunities for additional maintenance services, upgrades, and replacement projects.
  • Represent the company professionally during customer meetings and site visits.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in critical environments such as data centres, pharmaceutical, industrial, utilities, or manufacturing facilities.
  • Knowledge of protection systems, transformers, power distribution, and busbar systems.
  • Experience supporting shutdowns, switching operations, and electrical projects.
