Duties: Provide comprehensive medical services and expertise in general cardiology to a broad range of patients.  Perform physical exams, order blood work, and perform diagnostic tests to evaluate patients’ heart health and function.  Establish treatment and preventative health plans for patients, prescribe medication, and refer patients to outside specialists, as appropriate.  Treat and manage patients with heart ailments by prescribing pharmaceutical remedies and by providing lifestyle guidance.  Collect, record, and maintain details of the patients’ histories, physical examinations, diagnostic test results, assessments, management plans, and treatment outcomes.  Participate in daily multidisciplinary rounds assessing patients’ clinical, psychosocial and disposition.  Responsible for preparing consultative and procedural reports and maintaining all medical records.

Qualifications

Requirements: M.D. (Medical Degree), or equivalent; completion of residency in Internal Medicine; completion of fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease; board certification or eligibility for certification in Cardiovascular Disease; license to practice medicine or eligibility for licensure in Illinois.
