Responsibilities
  • Performs and documents items in the electronic medical record including reason for visit, tangent screen visual fields, chief complaint, basic ocular motility, history of present illness, pupillary evaluation, basic review of systems, ocular surface assessment, review systemic and ocular medications, eye drop administration, record allergies, intraocular pressure measurements (Goldman, Tono-Pen, I-Care), pharmacy information, pachymetry, family, social, medical, and ocular history

  • Provides support to providers including documentation in patient charts as required and directed for patient care

  • Attends educational courses for ophthalmic personnel when assigned

  • Maintains JCAHPO certifications
  • Ensures all equipment is calibrated and instrumentation is in proper working order
  • Participates in assigned clinical research and maintains required certifications

  • Travels to satellite eye centers when necessary
  • Works evenings and weekends as needed
  • Performs organizational duties as assigned
  • Completes IVI prep for patients
  • Facilitates motility exams
  • Supports Virtual Care encounters and exams
  • Performs imaging including fundus photos, OCTs, and Slit Lamp exams
  • Assists with training and onboarding clinical support staff
  • Acts as a super-user for technology implementations, optimizations, and training initiatives
  • Acts as preceptor and trainer for team members
  • Serves as a lead technician providing oversight to clinical teams when assigned
