- One year of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Customer-service orientation and strong verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with standard cuts for all breeds and the ability to safely and comfortably handle a variety of canine and feline sizes.
- Ability to maintain a clean and healthy environment for guests.
- Availability to meet resort scheduling needs, including days, nights, weekends, holidays, and peak times.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check.
- Provide customer service through consultations and explanations of available or rendered services and their costs.
- Safely and skillfully cut several guests per day in a professional manner.
- Check guests for parasites, lumps, bumps, or cuts before bathing.
- Clean and pluck ears, trim nails, and express external anal glands.
- Bathe guests using proper shampoo and conditioner; demat, brush, and fluff dry them.
- Perform general grooming-room maintenance, including cleaning cages, tubs, and tables; vacuuming and mopping floors; and cleaning clipper blades, scissors, and brushes after use.
- Work indoors in a heated, high-humidity area with loud background noise from dryers.
- Grow the customer base and service volume by making calls, cross-selling, and identifying potential service needs during downtime.
- Professionally greet and check in guests.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Resort Manager and/or Grooming Manager.
- A strong work ethic, organization, reliability, and ability to work as part of a team.
