Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • Five (5) years of professional facilities, operations, construction, or maintenance experience
  • Knowledge of design and construction management practices
  • Skill in oral and written communication
  • Skill in the use of Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize assignments
  • Ability to review construction drawings and specifications for constructability
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Maryland Class C Driver’s license or equivalent with fewer than 6 points
Responsibilities
  • Manage assigned capital projects from pre-design through construction, installation of equipment and project closeout, for projects typically ranging from $20M to $125M, including new construction or major renovation across varying building types and are executed via various project development methodologies
  • Primary duties include management of pre-design, design, construction, commissioning services, project cost control, schedule management, and quality assurance
  • Oversee the acquisition and receipt of capital equipment and coordinate with clients to assure efficient move-in and start up
  • Maintain project records, produce reports and ensure timely project closeout
  • Provide leadership to many individuals associated with each capital project and may directly supervise technical and administrative staff on a project specific basis
  • Projects can be generally located in College Park or other USM institutions throughout the state and travel within Maryland; telework eligible up to 2 times per week
Desired Qualifications
  • Seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in managing large-scale renovation or new construction projects, including oversight of architectural and engineering (A/E) design consultant services and construction administration
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture, Engineering or Construction Management, or related field
  • Experience working on projects that used Building Information Modeling (BIM)
  • LEED project experience
  • Experience managing projects greater than $ 20M
  • Professional registration or LEED accreditation
