IXL launches Virginia-specific LevelUp Diagnostic with SOL performance tracking

IXL Learning has launched a Virginia-specific edition of its LevelUp Diagnostic assessment tool. The platform delivers standards-aligned evaluations in maths and English language arts in 45-60 minutes, significantly shorter than traditional interim assessments. The Virginia edition includes a new Standards Performance report that shows how students are performing on Virginia Standards of Learning (SOLs). The tool provides immediate results showing grade-level proficiency and breakdowns by strand. Once students complete the diagnostic, they receive personalised action plans with skill recommendations from IXL's curriculum. The platform also offers a Real-Time mode requiring just 10 minutes weekly to update scores and action plans. IXL is currently used by one in three learners in Virginia and nearly 70% of districts across the state. The company serves 18 million students and 96 of the top 100 US school districts.

Testing, Testing: The Ixl Levelup™ Diagnostic For Math Now Helps High School Students Reach New Heights

Many schools lean on interim assessments to fill those gaps, but the exams are few and far between. By the time results are in, it's often too late for teachers to intervene. Having the right tools—ones that provide real-time, actionable insights and a path to growth—is essential. To address this challenge, IXL recently expanded the IXL LevelUp™ Diagnostic for math so that educators can identify what high school students know and help them reach new heights. With this expansion, LevelUp now covers all PK-12 students, including those taking Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2 or Integrated Math courses. The diagnostic also offers full audio and Spanish-language support, allowing educators to accurately assess students' math knowledge, independent of their English proficiency.Smarter, faster, more flexibleDesigned with cutting-edge psychometric principles, the LevelUp™ Diagnostic meets the most rigorous requirements for reliability and accuracy. Additionally, it functions as both a benchmark exam and real-time assessment—providing options for gathering data exactly when needed.Time is at a premium in classrooms, especially as schools work to close persistent learning gaps. While traditional testing can take hours, the diagnostic's benchmark exam is short enough to fit into a single class period
