Requirements
  • Intermediate to advanced understanding of pharmacy technology, including product dispensing, data entry, and adjudication workflow.
  • Proficiency in inventory management, including ordering, receiving, inventory freshness, return-to-stock processes, and cycle counting.
  • Proficiency in managing the medication therapy management program and other patient-centered professional services.
  • Proficiency in applicable state and federal regulations and company operational policies and procedures.
  • Compliance with HIPAA standards.
  • Completion of all mandatory and regulatory training programs.
  • A PTCB or other nationally recognized certification.
  • For Vermont employees, registration with the State of Vermont as a Pharmacy Technician.
  • Successful completion of a drug test and initial and continuous exclusion and sanction or disciplinary monitoring.
Responsibilities
  • Work under the direct supervision of a pharmacist and follow standard procedures to complete assigned tasks.
  • Assist professional staff with triaging, processing, and delivering prescriptions to patients.
  • Perform Pharmacy Clerk duties as needed, including operating the cash register and answering telephones.
  • Learn and use the pharmacy management system, including reception and release to patient queues, and the point-of-sale system.
  • Follow instructions, complete tasks urgently, and maintain daily department standards.
  • Follow Quality Assurance policies and procedures and support patient-care programs and initiatives.
  • Ensure accuracy with cash handling and related cash controls.
  • Ensure every prescription is checked by a pharmacist before dispensing to the patient.
  • Assist with initial submission and resubmission of third-party claims.
  • Assist with checking pharmacy inventory for out-of-date products and processing returns.
  • Locate prescription files and other manual records from storage as needed.
  • Prepare and file manual records for pharmacist signatures and review.
  • Perform store clerk duties as needed.
  • Perform other assigned duties.
Desired Qualifications
  • Hospital or retail pharmacy experience.
  • An Associate of Science degree or higher.
