Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree is required.
  • A minimum of ten years in progressively responsible positions, including supervision and program leadership, is preferred.
  • Willingness to lead effectively in an evolving and dynamic hybrid work environment is required.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and use a strategic sourcing roadmap, including a twelve-month forward-looking expired contract roadmap.
  • Provide leadership for assigned associates using standardized sourcing methodologies, contract templates, and benchmarking proformas.
  • Lead associates in deploying standard work, including contract repositories, project management platforms, and Supply Chain balanced scorecards.
  • Develop plans with the group purchasing organization to maximize administrative fees.
  • Establish annual economic valuation targets to support Supply Chain expense reduction.
  • Strategically source and negotiate service-related agreements.
  • Negotiate terms affecting operating expenses, including warranties, service, and parts replacement.
  • Identify and cultivate standardized supply inventory room proformas and inventory management methodologies.
  • Advance supplier consolidation and product standardization to reduce clinical variation.
  • Develop and implement post-sourcing compliance management standards.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain operations and value analysis teams to foster change, mitigate risk, and advance economic value.
  • Develop strategic sourcing plans that achieve Tier 1 and Tier 2 supplier diversity objectives.
  • Measure, monitor, and continuously improve time to execution within the Supply Chain Balanced Scorecard.
  • Lead enterprise sourcing strategy and execution for an assigned portfolio across Duke University and Duke University Health System.
  • Integrate stakeholder demand, supplier strategy, market intelligence, competitive sourcing, and contract readiness to create measurable value.
  • Drive cross-institution integration of sourcing demand and align stakeholders to maximize leverage and commercial discipline.
  • Oversee complex negotiations and contract lifecycle governance to improve pricing, risk allocation, and implementation outcomes.
Desired Qualifications
  • A master's degree is strongly preferred.
  • A Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) is highly preferred.
  • Applicants who are not licensed pharmacists may be considered if they possess the desired strategic supply chain, sourcing, and leadership experience.
