Requirements
  • Be at least 18 years of age and possess a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
  • Possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Have authorization to work in the United States when working at a United States location.
  • Complete ramp and SIDA training to obtain airport authority identification security.
  • Be able to secure a Customs Seal through the respective governing agency if required by the customer or role access.
  • Lift, carry, push, pull, and move items weighing 70 pounds or more regularly, and repetitively lift items weighing 40 to 50 pounds on raised surfaces.
  • Carry heavy items up and down narrow jetway stairs.
  • Walk, climb, bend, kneel, crawl, and stoop frequently and for extended periods.
  • Work in cramped or high places.
  • Remain alert to moving vehicles or aircraft and use radio equipment to communicate with crew and airport authorities.
  • Work outside in all types of weather and around jet and machinery noises.
  • Communicate information and instructions effectively and professionally, verbally or via radio equipment, with flight crew, gate agents, and other ground crew.
  • Use basic math skills to calculate aircraft weight and balance calculations.
  • Use computer systems to track cargo and baggage.
  • Troubleshoot issues during loading and unloading.
  • Manage time effectively to complete tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Responsibilities
  • Guide inbound and outbound airplanes to and from the gate.
  • Transport, lift, load, unload, sort, and transfer passenger baggage, cargo, and mail in and out of aircraft bins, belt loaders, or baggage carts safely.
  • Safeguard customer baggage, air cargo, and airmail from weather, loss, theft, damage, or destruction.
  • Clean aircraft passenger cabins between flights and stock aircraft with needed supplies.
  • Operate heavy equipment such as pushback equipment while maintaining visual contact with Wing Walkers.
  • Operate or drive belt loaders, air start units, lift trucks, pushback tugs, bag carts, lavatory carts, and deicers.
  • Manually push and pull push carts and containers.
  • Operate equipment to move luggage and cargo, tow planes between gates, and refill water tanks and lavatories.
  • Receive and record customer baggage, air freight, mail, and company materials as required.
  • Pick up, deliver, and transport cargo and baggage to and from aircraft, including wheelchairs, strollers, live animals, and other passenger property.
  • Prepare records connected with cargo and baggage transportation responsibilities.
  • Complete paperwork and forms connected with work assignments and enter data into the company's information system.
  • Follow company procedures and protocols to operate safely and responsibly.
  • Complete training required by the company, airport governing authority, or customer.
  • Take reasonable care for the health, wellbeing, safety, and security of oneself and others affected by work activities.
  • Cooperate with managers and supervisors to support compliance with company legal requirements.
  • Report work situations, equipment, or activities representing serious or immediate danger to managers or supervisors.
  • Report hazards, near misses, incidents, accidents, and dangerous occurrences to managers or supervisors.
  • Carry out work according to provided information, training, and applicable health, safety, security, and welfare procedures.
  • Understand AGI health, safety, and security policies.
  • Attend AGI training courses as required.
