We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to join our Total Rewards team. This role is responsible for processing a biweekly payroll for approximately 500 employees using Workday and OneSource Virtual (OSV). The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of payroll principles, multi-state payroll tax regulations, and experience supporting payroll operations through mergers and acquisitions (M&A).The Payroll Specialist is responsible for overseeing all payroll functions and ensuring timely completion of necessary tasks.
The Payroll area specializes in ensuring timely and accurate delivery and accounting of salaries, wages, commission, and incentive payments.
Process and audit biweekly payroll for 500+ employees using Workday and OSV.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations across multiple jurisdictions.
Manage payroll-related activities during M&A events, including employee transitions and system integrations.
Open and close state and local tax accounts as needed.
Reconcile payroll reports and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
Collaborate with HR, Finance, and external vendors to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.
Maintain payroll records and ensure data integrity within Workday.
Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, taxes, and deductions.
Understand deadlines for final checks per state laws
Preparing Workday payroll reports for management and auditing purposes
Adhere to all local, state and federal regulations and guidelines regarding payroll maintenance and registrations
Ideally 5+ years of in-house payroll processing and administration experience within a high volume, multi-state, corporate environment required
Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) strongly preferred
Strong experience in payroll processing and systems application specifically in Payroll Operations and employee data maintenance
Experience with Workday, OSV experience strongly preferred
Experience with payroll tax registrations for a multi-state company
General understanding of required compliance with legal, regulatory, and financial requirements governing functional tasks and activities
Strong interpersonal skills
Good time management and communication skills
Highly organized and detail oriented; ability to work in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment required
