Requirements
  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • A Journeyman or Master’s electrical license is required.
  • At least 2 years of hands-on QA/QC experience in commercial or industrial electrical construction is preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of national electrical codes, including the National Electrical Code, testing methods, and electrical installation best practices is required.
  • Ability to work full-time on-site in active construction zones is required.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team is required.
Responsibilities
  • Monitor and inspect all on-site electrical work, including conduit and cable installations, medium-voltage and low-voltage switchgear, panels, lighting, lighting controls, and grounding systems.
  • Ensure all work aligns with project specifications, electrical codes, including the National Electrical Code, and client requirements.
  • Conduct daily walkdowns and quality checks during active construction phases.
  • Conduct in-process inspections during critical milestones such as slab pours, wall closures, and panel energization.
  • Supervise and document pre-commissioning and final testing of electrical systems, including insulation resistance, continuity, phase sequence, loop checks, very low frequency testing, and ground resistance.
  • Witness and document pre-commissioning and commissioning activities in coordination with testing vendors and commissioning agents.
  • Ensure all test equipment is calibrated and testing procedures are followed precisely.
  • Maintain current site daily inspection quality assurance/quality control logs, test records, inspection reports, non-conformance reports, and punch lists.
  • Maintain and track submittal and request for information logs.
  • Verify that as-built drawings and redline markups accurately reflect field conditions.
  • Identify workmanship issues, non-conformances, and code violations on-site and drive resolution through corrective actions.
  • Interface with project engineers, electrical foremen, subcontractors, and the client’s quality assurance/quality control representatives to ensure quality expectations are met.
  • Participate in daily toolbox talks, safety walks, and progress meetings as the quality representative on-site.
  • Work closely with site engineers, foremen, and subcontractors to resolve quality issues.
  • Report to the QA/QC Manager and attend site coordination and progress meetings.
  • Ensure adherence to site safety standards, permitting requirements, and company policies.
Desired Qualifications
  • Familiarity with quality assurance documentation, Microsoft Office, Procore, or BIM 360 is preferred.
  • OSHA 30, NFPA 70E, or other safety certifications are highly desirable.
