Requirements
  • Earned Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, or School Psychology from an American Psychological Association or Canadian Psychological Association accredited program. Advanced Doctoral Candidate (ABD) will be considered; a degree must be conferred by the time of appointment.
  • License-eligible as a psychologist in the state of Texas at the time of appointment.
Responsibilities
  • Teach two courses each Fall and Spring semester as a part-time instructor.
  • Teach clinical psychology courses at the undergraduate and master’s level, which may include courses in psychological assessment, psychopathology, and psychotherapy.
  • Serve on oral exam committees in the Clinical Psychology Master of Arts program (approximately four or five exams per year).
  • May mentor student research by serving on thesis committees.
  • Engage in routine department service.
  • May provide clinical supervision to master’s level students (one or two students per year).
  • Develop courses in their area of specialization if desired.
  • Demonstrate understanding of multicultural issues and apply to pedagogy and clinical practice.
Desired Qualifications
  • Licensed as a psychologist, preferably in the state of Texas.
  • Clinical experience focused on forensic psychology or justice-involved populations.
  • Experience and/or ability to effectively develop and teach clinical psychology courses at the master’s and undergraduate level.
  • Experience mentoring students in research.
