Requirements
  • Associate's degree or zero to three years of experience in Biomedical Engineering, Electronics, or Clinical Laboratory Science, which may include experience in the Armed Forces.
  • Knowledge of electronics and laboratory science.
  • Completion of Sysmex-certified instrument training.
  • A valid driver's license or the ability to obtain one within 90 days of employment.
  • Willingness to relocate to any service district throughout the United States upon completion of the training program.
  • General computer knowledge in a Microsoft Windows environment.
  • Ability to explain complex technical information associated with instrument systems in simple terms.
  • Ability to satisfy the credentialing requirements of healthcare facilities, including proof of current vaccinations for measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, and COVID-19.
  • Ability to handle moderate physical activity including routine handling of objects weighing 21 to 50 pounds and continuous walking or keyboard work.
Responsibilities
  • Complete all required training to perform the duties of a Field Service Technician.
  • Travel up to 50% within the United States during the training period to work with mentors or assist with service-related tasks.
  • Install, maintain, and repair Sysmex instruments and systems by identifying and analyzing problems to meet specifications.
  • Perform pre-installation site surveys, scheduled maintenance, and approved modifications in accordance with company policies.
  • Schedule modifications as indicated in the Technical Service Bulletin and Engineering Change Request processes.
  • Monitor and respond to communication devices during all scheduled times.
  • Document all service-related activities including inventory, service orders, and expense reports in a timely manner.
  • Perform duties within defined service standards for on-time completion and first-visit repair rates.
  • Provide ownership of technical issues at customer sites and work cross-functionally to ensure customer resolution.
  • Maintain control of parts inventory and all company property.
  • Transition into an open Service Engineer position in a service district as they become available after successful completion of the program.
Desired Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electronics, or Clinical Laboratory Science.
  • Basic knowledge of Laboratory Information Systems and interfacing principles.
  • Proficiency in a second language such as Spanish, French, or Portuguese.
