Requirements
  • Two years of experience.
  • Ability to maintain constant alertness and work safely.
  • Ability to stand and walk constantly; lift, carry, push, and pull objects; perform reaching, gripping, keyboard use, data entry, and occasional physical movements including bending, stooping, climbing, crawling, kneeling, sitting, squatting, and twisting.
  • Ability to hear alarms and malfunctioning machinery and communicate information orally.
  • Ability to judge distances and spatial relationships, distinguish colors, and use smell to detect odors.
  • Ability to drive occasionally.
Responsibilities
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on facilities, equipment, and associated systems, including fire systems, tube systems, equipment repair, nurse call systems, infant abduction systems, life-safety components, paging systems, medical gas systems, locks, and doors.
  • Perform repairs according to work orders or verbal instructions and compile required documentation according to established policies and procedures.
  • Identify and request parts and components needed to complete maintenance tasks.
  • Work with vendors, contractors, and factory representatives on equipment repair and replacement.
  • Assist contractors and other personnel with connections and shut-offs for water and fire systems.
  • Perform basic plumbing, electrical, and appliance repairs, including changing light bulbs, replacing ballasts, and installing light fixtures.
  • Perform carpentry and minor construction projects, including installing or repairing drywall, walls, flooring, ceramic tile, cabinetry, countertops, shelving, and painting.
  • Help maintain a clean and safe work environment by removing debris and trash, lifting and moving materials and equipment, sweeping floors, and storing materials.
  • Perform other assigned duties.
