We are looking for an experienced User Experience Designer to join a team. Our design team is spread across Atlanta, New York City, Princeton, San Francisco and London. You will be joining a product team with a start-up feel and a global impact. Aladdin WealthTech provides financial advisors, and BlackRock’s wealth advisory teams, with a suite of experiences that affords them portfolio construction, analysis and diagnostic capabilities.

The Role
Our UX Designers work with teams across engineering, product, marketing, business development, and research. You will employ UX and service design techniques to enhance existing experiences, creates new ones and be an integral part of optimizing our design system.
Role/Responsibilities:
- Create a wide spectrum of innovative design solutions in collaboration with design lead, product owners, partners, and engineering to showcase user’s desired outcomes, cover business needs using strong design rationale.
- You’ll design everything from high level flows, to detailed wireframes, to high fidelity mockups, to clickable prototypes to express your vision
- Conduct usability testing to validate design directions and inform new thinking for key features.
- Present your designs and rationale to our partners
- Contribute to improving our design team tools and processes
Basic Qualifications:
- A portfolio which showcases your awesome UX and UI design skills , and work across complex web applications.
- 3+ years’ experience in similar design role, delivering data-heavy applications as part of multi-functional teams including engineering, design and product management, with at least 2 projects where you led the design from discovery to release.
- Expert Figma skills.
- Solid understanding of elements of visual design: Typography, Iconography, Color Theory, Layout and Composition
- Strong UX design skillset, including; identifying problem statements, solution generation, concept creation, wireframing, testing, synthesis, iteration, prototyping.
- Experience working on the delivery and production side of projects including applying design systems, contributing to pattern libraries, producing assets for developments and visual QA of in-production designs.
- Strong communication and storytelling capabilities
Bonus Qualifications:
- Experience creating data visualizations and/or designing products that have innovated in visualizing large datasets.
- Prior experience creating products in the financial technology space = banking, payments, investing.

For New York City only: The salary range for this position is $132,500 - $157,500. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including heath care, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.

Our hybrid work model
BlackRock’s hybrid work model is designed to enable a culture of collaboration and apprenticeship that enriches the experience of our employees, while supporting flexibility for all. Employees are currently required to work at least 4 days in the office per week, with the flexibility to work from home 1 day a week. Some business groups may require more time in the office due to their roles and responsibilities.
