- Identify and qualify alternative components for end-of-life or not-recommended-for-new-design components and for cost reduction.
- Modify electronic circuit boards, including soldering components on or off as necessary, to evaluate functionality and support prototype board development.
- Support product sustaining engineering activities, perform root cause analysis, and revise designs.
- Support building prototypes; modify, test, and troubleshoot electronic hardware and associated heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning systems, components, and instruments.
- Use typical electrical test equipment to analyze and troubleshoot board-level and system-level electrical issues.
- Ensure all designs, tests, and development activities are well documented.
- Develop procedures and manuals as necessary.
- Knowledge of Bluetooth Low Energy, Wi-Fi, power management, sensor control, Universal Serial Bus, Universal Asynchronous Receiver-Transmitter, Inter-Integrated Circuit, and various bus communication technologies.
