What’stherole?
Field Service Engineer is responsible for the installation, preventative maintenance, and performance monitoring of leading-edge AIMS (Aerial Image Measurement System) semiconductor manufacturing photomask qualification tools. This position is field based in Boise, ID and is tied to a local semiconductor manufacturing customer.

Here’s what you’ll do:
Troubleshoot complex optical mask making equipment.
Ability to make and oversee technically complicated equipment repairs.
Ability to maintain and replace advanced EUV light source systems and perform optical alignment of equipment is required.
Maintain systems to achieve the contractually obligated equipment uptime performance.
Schedule and perform all recommended Preventative Maintenance activities.
Actively participate in meetings with ZEISS and customer teams.
Communication of repair/service strategies including risk mitigation analysis and schedule
Report all system actions/events and daily activities in field service reports.
Communicate system and site issues to factory level support and follow-up to achieve resolution of customer’s open issues.
Close teamwork and communication with customer including excellent customer relationships.
Do you qualify?
A technical degree (e.g., Bachelor of Engineering or Science) is required, coupled with over 5 years of relevant experience in electro-mechanical and/or optical equipment.
At least 3 years of experience as a field-based service engineer, preferably in the semiconductor industry supporting complex equipment.
Proficiency in working with vacuum chambers and associated hardware.
Familiarity with FAB cleanroom protocols.
Preferred experience with mask-making equipment.
Previous experience within the semiconductor industry.
Working Conditions and Special Demands:
Ability to lift 50lbs; ability to stand for long periods; ability to stoop, squat, kneel, twist and lay down in the course of equipment repair.
Ability to travel – including internationally. Anticipate after initial training that travel is <10%.
Ability to work long hours inside a semiconductor cleanroom (FAB). Requires following of all customer cleanroom protocols.
Position requires OT including weekends as required.
Position requires working with laser systems and potentially hazardous chemistries.
Position requires ability and dexterity to perform very complex system alignments and adjustments.
