(This position is based in Trepp’s NYC or Dallas, TX office which operate in a hybrid work schedule)
We are looking for a seasoned Director - Lending Specialist with extensive experience in the banking sector, particularly in risk management or underwriting in the Commercial Real Estate (CRE) space. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of risk management principles in banking and stay updated on the regulatory landscape. This role requires someone who can effectively communicate with banks and regulators, and play a pivotal role in connecting our sales, product, advisory, and analytics teams.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Solution Ideation and Advisory: Ideate on new solutions and advisory offerings to enhance client engagement and satisfaction.
- RFP and RFI Process Management: Lead and manage the process of responding to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Requests for Information (RFIs).
- Development of Proof of Concept (PoC): Utilize Trepp solutions to develop and implement proof of concepts for new initiatives.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Act as the link between sales, product, advisory, support and analytics teams to ensure cohesive strategy and execution.
- Risk Management and Regulatory Compliance: Maintain a thorough understanding of risk management in the banking sector and stay abreast of regulatory changes and implications.
- Stakeholder Communication: Effectively communicate and negotiate with banks and regulators, representing the company’s interests and ensuring compliance.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in the banking industry, specifically in risk management or underwriting in the CRE space.
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field. A Master’s degree or relevant professional qualifications would be advantageous
- Skills: Strong knowledge of risk management principles and regulatory frameworks in banking.
- Experienced in developing PoCs, managing RFP/RFI processes, and ideating new solutions.
- Exceptional ability to communicate and negotiate with various stakeholders including banks and regulators.
- Proven track record of effective collaboration across multiple teams.
- Soft Skills: Excellent leadership, strategic thinking, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail.
- Ability to travel up to 25% for industry conferences and client meetings.
Salary Range:
- Base salary starting from $150k plus bonus eligible

Workplace Policy
NYC, PA, and London office-based positions: Trepp’s offices follows a 3-2 hybrid-working policy with the expectation of in-office work on Tuesday-Thursday and the option to work from home on Monday and Friday.
