Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required; vocational training is a plus.
- At least two years of proven work experience in an industrial setting are required.
- Proficiency in fabrication and welding is required.
- Familiarity with spreadsheet and word processor software is required.
- Ability to read technical drawings is required.
- Ability to manage workload and provide timely updates is required.
- Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States.
- Applicants should be eligible for any required authorization from the U.S. Government under U.S. export control regulations.
Responsibilities
- Prototype and implement changes to equipment and facilities to improve performance and reliability.
- Machine, fabricate, and fasten materials using welding equipment, lathes, mills, surface grinders, drill presses, CNC machines, and hand tools.
- Document equipment and facilities by taking measurements, operating 3D scanning equipment, and redlining drawings to maintain accurate as-built records.
- Oversee outside contractors to ensure that work complies with Armtec safety regulations.
- Track, monitor, and manage workload and provide updates to ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Perform pilot-scale production operations and provide feedback on effectiveness.
- Collaborate with engineers, designers, and technicians to implement and improve designs and processes.
- Maintain records of experiments, results, procedures, and observations, and prepare technical reports.
- Assist engineers in developing, installing, and maintaining equipment, systems, and prototypes.
- Build, calibrate, and test mechanical, electrical, and electronic components to ensure functionality.
- Prepare materials, reagents, and samples to meet quality standards.
- Maintain and improve the cleanliness of work areas.
- Conduct laboratory experiments, simulations, and tests to validate hypotheses or prototype performance.
- Use Management of Change processes to review engineering changes for safety, quality, and production impacts.
- Install equipment and tooling in compliance with safety standards.
- Uphold ethical standards and comply with Armtec ethics and business conduct policies.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Desired Qualifications
- Toolmaker experience is preferred.
