Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required; vocational training is a plus.
  • At least two years of proven work experience in an industrial setting are required.
  • Proficiency in fabrication and welding is required.
  • Familiarity with spreadsheet and word processor software is required.
  • Ability to read technical drawings is required.
  • Ability to manage workload and provide timely updates is required.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Applicants should be eligible for any required authorization from the U.S. Government under U.S. export control regulations.
Responsibilities
  • Prototype and implement changes to equipment and facilities to improve performance and reliability.
  • Machine, fabricate, and fasten materials using welding equipment, lathes, mills, surface grinders, drill presses, CNC machines, and hand tools.
  • Document equipment and facilities by taking measurements, operating 3D scanning equipment, and redlining drawings to maintain accurate as-built records.
  • Oversee outside contractors to ensure that work complies with Armtec safety regulations.
  • Track, monitor, and manage workload and provide updates to ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Perform pilot-scale production operations and provide feedback on effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with engineers, designers, and technicians to implement and improve designs and processes.
  • Maintain records of experiments, results, procedures, and observations, and prepare technical reports.
  • Assist engineers in developing, installing, and maintaining equipment, systems, and prototypes.
  • Build, calibrate, and test mechanical, electrical, and electronic components to ensure functionality.
  • Prepare materials, reagents, and samples to meet quality standards.
  • Maintain and improve the cleanliness of work areas.
  • Conduct laboratory experiments, simulations, and tests to validate hypotheses or prototype performance.
  • Use Management of Change processes to review engineering changes for safety, quality, and production impacts.
  • Install equipment and tooling in compliance with safety standards.
  • Uphold ethical standards and comply with Armtec ethics and business conduct policies.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
Desired Qualifications
  • Toolmaker experience is preferred.
