Requirements
  • Certification by the American Board of Radiology or the American Osteopathic Board of Radiology.
  • At least three years of experience as a faculty member in an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education-accredited Diagnostic Radiology program.
  • Meet all Program Director requirements outlined by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education or another applicable accrediting body.
  • Experience working within a university or academic medical center setting.
  • Demonstrated excellence as an educator and administrator.
Responsibilities
  • Lead the educational mission of the training program, ensure appropriate trainee milestone advancement, oversee faculty teaching and role modeling, and assign teaching faculty to provide high-quality resident education.
  • Bring current, cutting-edge Diagnostic Radiology education opportunities to Ohio State and the residency program.
  • Foster an effective and safe learning environment, promote an interdisciplinary healthcare team that supports education, and provide high-quality clinical services to patients in a balanced manner.
  • Assess residency quality outcome metrics for education and patient care while supporting wise resource utilization and trainee adherence to protocols and practice guidelines.
  • Ensure the education and training of supervising physicians and residents are commensurate with their activity at Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center and provide trainees with supervision appropriate to their skills and knowledge.
  • Ensure Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center meets the accreditation and regulatory standards of the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education, Joint Commission, Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, Occupational Safety and Health Administration, and other applicable governmental accrediting or regulatory bodies.
  • Promote the program and Ohio State Radiology through educational scholarly output.
  • Provide a learning and working environment in which residents can raise concerns and provide feedback confidentially and without fear of intimidation or retaliation.
  • Oversee the resident selection process in a just and equitable manner.
Desired Qualifications
  • At least five years of experience as an attending physician after completing Radiology subspecialty training.
  • Two or more years of experience serving in an educational leadership capacity.
