Chartboost is looking for an exceptional Site Reliability Engineering leader to help us design, build, and maintain high-performance, scalable, fault-tolerant services for our platform. You will work closely with our Site Reliability Engineers and other engineering teams and make their services observable, scalable and production-ready. Participate in resolving emergent service problems and build tools and automation to prevent re-occurrence. You will also play a critical part in providing the practices and expertise to help teams better own and build their products.
Impact you will make:
- Lead, mentor and grow a team of Site Reliability Engineers
- Work with engineering teams to build, improve application observability
- Develop and promote best practices in production readiness and operations
- Work with product owners and stakeholders to define SLOs/SLIs for our engineering products
- Create processes and tools for change management and incident management
- Debug production issues across services and levels of the stack
- Participate in on-call rotations, along with other engineering teams
Who you are:
- B.Sc. in Computer Science or related field
- You have experience in engineering manager and/or tech-lead roles leading DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering team
- You’ve worked on systems at scale and have experience with service-oriented architecture
- You understand observability and why we need it and have good intuitions about what to measure and how
- You can debug complex problems across the stack
- You have effective communication skills and a strong sense of ownership
- You are willing to “carry the pager” but strive to build a system reliable enough that you don’t get paged
The following experience would be a plus:
- Observability tools such as Datadog, Elasticsearch, Logstash and Kibana
- Operating production services on Kubernetes, GCP, and AWS
- NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Aerospike or Bigtable
- CI/CD tools such as Spinnaker, Jenkins, Travis CI

This is a fully remote role that may be based anywhere in the United States. The pay range for this position in California at the start of employment is expected to be between $100,000 and $233,000 per year. For applicants based in Colorado at the start of employment is expected to be between $90,000 and $200,000 per year. For applicants based in New York City and New Jersey at the start of employment is expected to be between $95,000 and $225,000 per year.
However, base pay offered is based on market location, and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to those same considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a bonus and/or equity awards, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

However, base pay offered is based on market location, and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to those same considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a bonus and/or equity awards and eligibility to participate in our 401(K) plan, in addition to a full range of medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees will also receive 13 paid holidays per calendar year, unlimited discretionary time off, and will receive 10 sick days per calendar year. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
