  • A doctoral degree or master's degree from an accredited occupational therapy program.
  • Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association or an equivalent certification upon hire or within 30 days of hire.
  • A current Occupational Therapist license in Pennsylvania or New Jersey, based on work location.
  • Successful completion of coursework and required clinical affiliations from an accredited occupational therapy educational program.
  • CPR certification.
  • Ability to sit for up to ninety minutes at a time and stand for thirty to forty-five minutes consecutively.
  • Ability to use hands and fingers to manipulate machine dials.
  • Ability to lift, move, push, and pull patients weighing up to 200 pounds.
  • Ability to occasionally stoop, bend, squat, crouch, kneel, and reach above shoulder level.
  • Ability to perform tactile sensation tasks involving muscle spasms, texture, and skin temperature, as well as normal hearing and general, depth, and peripheral vision.
Responsibilities
  • Complete patient evaluations, develop treatment plans, and implement treatment programs.
  • Administer treatment at multiple inpatient and outpatient locations.
  • Supervise COTA staff daily as needed.
  • Complete timely communication and documentation of patient-related information.
  • Represent occupational therapy in multidisciplinary meetings.
  • Assist with cross-training occupational therapy personnel.
  • Supervise OTR and COTA fieldwork students and volunteers.
  • Promote department safety and participate in and present in-service training to occupational therapy staff and others.
  • Assist in developing and implementing program development.
  • Provide coverage for departmental therapists during vacation periods.
