Requirements
  • Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Plant Pathology, Plant Science or a closely related field with experience in the broad area of seed pathology.
Responsibilities
  • Develop an externally funded, high-impact research program that engages students in plant pathology, seed pathology, and bioinformatics.
  • Participate in university service.
  • Teach in the department's academic programs.
  • Develop state-of-the-art diagnostic tools for detecting seedborne pathogens, with emphasis on viruses, bacteria, and fungi.
Desired Qualifications
  • Evidence of strong potential for conducting innovative research in seed pathology, including development of diagnostic tests for pathogens.
  • Evidence for using high-throughput sequencing and associated computational pipelines.
  • Evidence of a strong publication record in internationally recognized journals.
