  • A bachelor's degree in human services, psychology, counseling, education, social science, communications, or a closely related field.
  • Alternatively, an associate's degree in human services, psychology, counseling, education, social science, communications, or a closely related field, plus two years of related experience; experience may include successful Job Corps outreach and admissions experience or successful outreach and admissions experience with other youth development programs.
  • Three years of experience in sales, marketing, or counseling.
  • Successful completion of the contract-required background check and drug test.
  • A current, valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
  • Completion of all mandated training requirements according to government and management directives.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and present information to students, management and line staff, corporate and Department of Labor personnel, and public groups.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret and manage data.
  • Ability to develop rapport and positive working relationships with all departments.
  • Timely completion and accuracy of departmental work.
  • Ability to deal with a variety of people in a professional and courteous manner in diversified situations.
  • Adherence to established company safety policies and ability to work safely, using required personal protective equipment as needed.
  • Compliance with company standard operating procedures and personnel policies and procedures.
  • Ability to walk, climb stairs, visually observe the Center environment, and respond rapidly to physical altercations or emergencies.
  • Ability to safely operate a passenger vehicle and supervise students simultaneously.
  • Ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, talk, or hear; occasionally use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
Responsibilities
  • Participate in career and job fair events, council meetings, social media posts and correspondence, and news or radio segments to pitch the Job Corps program, including in-person and virtual events for the center National Enrollee Assignment Plan assignment.
  • Market Job Corps to American Job Centers, schools, the Housing Authority, youth programs, and other appropriate organizations to promote referrals of eligible applicants.
  • Track and document outreach activities to gauge effectiveness based on applicant files.
  • Track conversion rates between prospects, applicants, and arrivals as a measure of outreach effectiveness.
  • Develop street teams of student leaders to represent the Center at outreach events and speak to prospective applicants.
  • Build rapport with the community and ensure a continuous flow of applicants for the Center.
  • Provide applicants with accurate information about Job Corps, including graduation requirements, program expectations, student rules, the zero-tolerance policy, and current Center program offerings.
  • Independently assess, verify, and document eligibility for Job Corps programs and approve enrollment of selected students appropriately to meet Center goals and program commitments.
  • Conduct Center tours for applicants, parents, and referral sources.
  • Provide information about Job Corps to interested youth and agencies.
  • File weekly and monthly outreach and achievement reports with the OA/CTS Manager as directed.
  • Maintain and update resource files for recruitment, outreach, and referrals.
  • Complete an After-Action Report following each off-Center outreach event.
  • Assist the Manager by generating reports to monitor Outreach and Admissions contract performance outcomes.
  • Cultivate and maintain a Center climate free of harassment, intimidation, and disrespect for staff and students.
  • Promote student attainment of career success standards by modeling appropriate skills, mentoring students, monitoring skill acquisition, and intervening when inappropriate behavior is observed.
  • Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
