Job Description
Teledyne Princeton Instruments, a business unit of Teledyne Digital Imaging US, Inc, designs and manufactures high-performance CCD, sCMOS, ICCD, EMCCD, emICCD, and InGaAs cameras; spectrographs; and optics-based solutions for the scientific research, industrial imaging, and OEM communities. We take pride in partnering with our customers to solve their most challenging problems in unique, innovative ways.
Technical Support Specialist is a hands-on position, driving customer success though effective problem resolution and strong customer relationship management. He/she provides direct support of Princeton Instruments customers to ensure that applications are successful and works with various departments within the company to implement product improvements. This is a global role with direct responsibility to increase customer satisfaction. The position requires constant interaction with the current and potential customers as well as PI’s sales, marketing, engineering and global support teams.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Providing pre- and post-sale technical and applications support for Princeton Instruments customers
- Analyzing and resolving complex system issues and implementing corrective actions
- Maintaining knowledge base, application documentation and procedures
- Field installation and training of imaging and spectroscopy systems
- Developing and assisting in internal technical training programs
- Managing customer support section of the website
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
- BS, MS or PhD in Physics, Physical Chemistry or Engineering; other degrees with relevant experience will be considered
- Excellent interpersonal, written/oral communication skills.
- Technical aptitude with understanding of a solution, not just the product.
- Software skills: CRM tools, MS Office; Programing experience in C#, Matlab, Python and LabView is preferred
- Experience with scientific research and analytical instruments
- Knowledge of optics, imaging and spectroscopy is a plus
- Travel required ~25%
