Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Three to five or more years of supply chain or logistics experience, preferably in distribution, distribution centers, or third-party logistics.
  • Ability to define, develop, and document business processes and procedures.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with limited oversight.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and project management tools.
  • Experience with PDCA or other continuous-improvement frameworks.
  • Advanced proficiency in data analysis and problem-solving.
  • Strong knowledge of SAP, SQL, and enterprise-level dashboard reporting.
  • Ability to operate at a senior or Tier 3 level and manage large-scale escalations, financial backlogs, international receiving programs, or complex cross-functional projects.
Responsibilities
  • Work with business leads to define and manage business process and technology roadmaps.
  • Manage change management through collaboration and a customer-focused approach within the customer culture.
  • Provide insight, coaching, and guidance to peers in completing customer-requested tasks within timeline requirements.
  • Review impacts to inventory and logistics and develop mitigation strategies using root-cause and corrective-action analysis.
  • Serve as the single point of contact for site operations exceptions and operational reporting.
  • Manage and monitor key performance indicators, including OTIF, dock-to-stock, inventory accuracy, ticket service-level agreements, metrics, and cost savings; support process improvements and drive corrective actions.
  • Oversee day-to-day warehouse operations in a 590,000-square-foot facility.
  • Drive alignment and prioritization of initiatives in a fast-paced environment with multiple interdependencies.
  • Work with third-party logistics partners and internal teams to establish and improve on-site and off-site processes.
  • Oversee on-site activities affecting daily operations and ensure service commitments are met.
  • Coordinate with hubs, spokes, and transportation to support stable flow and capacity.
  • Provide occasional off-shift or on-call coverage and 10–20% local travel.
  • Review site-access ticket queues, route tickets to the appropriate Customer Logistics Operations Project Manager, and track resolution.
  • Monitor the customer's unified ticketing system and tracking systems, escalating issues with clear and accurate data.
  • Use spreadsheets and basic business-intelligence tools to pull and interpret data, identify trends, and recommend actions.
  • Review and update team processes and standard operating procedures using continuous-improvement methods.
  • Lead or support cost-saving and process-optimization projects and recommend best practices to the customer and third-party logistics partners.
  • Create and maintain pilots, trackers, and consolidated views of site activity and upcoming volumes.
  • Facilitate cross-functional meetings and workshops and document decisions, action items, and follow-through.
  • Present concise status reports to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Build trust with operations leaders by combining on-the-ground understanding with data-driven insight.

Expeditors posts 51% earnings jump to $2.03 per share, but air freight and customs tailwinds may not last

Expeditors International of Washington reported second-quarter 2026 results with diluted earnings per share jumping 51% to $2.03. Net earnings rose 45% to $266 million, whilst revenue climbed 32% to $3.5 billion. The logistics company saw double-digit revenue growth across customs brokerage, Transcon, distribution, and order management. Airfreight tonnage rose 14% year over year, driven by AI hyperscaler demand and North Asian e-commerce. Ocean freight volumes increased 7% versus the first quarter. However, management noted some tailwinds appear temporary. Elevated air freight rates stemmed from Middle East conflict disruptions. Customs brokerage growth was partly fueled by a temporary surge in IEEPA-related filings. Expeditors returned $461 million to shareholders through buybacks and dividends during the quarter. The company announced a $25 million technology restructuring expected to trim annual costs by roughly $50 million.

Expeditors beats Q2 estimates with $3.5B revenue, up 32% year-on-year

Expeditors International reported second-quarter revenue of $3.50 billion, up 32.1% year on year and beating analyst estimates of $2.95 billion by 18.6%. The logistics and freight forwarding company also posted GAAP earnings of $2.03 per share, exceeding consensus estimates of $1.69 by 19.9%. Operating margin held steady at 10% compared to the same quarter last year. However, free cash flow margin declined to 4.8% from 6.2% in the year-ago period. The company's board declared a semi-annual dividend of $0.81 per share, payable on 15 June to shareholders of record as of 1 June. Expeditors has returned nearly $2 billion to shareholders through dividends and share repurchases since 2024. Analysts project revenue growth of 1.1% over the next 12 months.

Expeditors International cuts 230 tech jobs, abandoning longstanding no-layoff policy

Expeditors International, a Washington-based freight forwarder, is cutting 230 employees by the end of the year, marking a departure from its longstanding no-layoff policy. The reductions affect the company's US global technology department across five offices in Washington state. According to a WARN notice filed Monday, the Seattle office will lose 68 employees, Federal Way 66, and Lynnwood 59. Separations began 8 August and will be finalised by 31 December. The cuts represent 15.4% of Expeditors' information systems branch, which employed 1,498 workers as of 31 March, and 1.1% of the company's total 20,361 staff. Affected positions include software developers, quality assurance engineers, project managers and business analysts. The company recently updated its corporate history page to describe its "short-term no layoff policy" rather than simply "no layoff policy".
