This position serves as Marketing and Communications Associate reporting to the Department Chair of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering. Works closely with Associate Chairs, faculty and staff of the department serving as the coordinator of a communications from the department.
Serves as coordinator of communications for CSE. Works with CSE chairperson and associate chairs to increase the Department of Computer Science and Engineering visibility by planning, managing and executing news and information strategies and timelines, developing and executing marketing plans, developing content and outlines of materials to be shared with different stakeholder groups, assisting in the development and maintenance of publications, coordinating all publish relations and communications activities for CSE including development of electronic and print materials.
Serves as content writer and publisher for CSE. Works with faculty and researchers to write and distribute news releases and prepare information for professional dissemination, coordinates and designs/produces educational and promotional graphics and displays; creates, edits, and procures annual reports, newsletters, brochures, posters, promotional flyers, acts as a liaison with media personnel within the College and University. Works with ETS and CSE staff to update CSE webpages; collects and edits web content; and creates posts to social media.
Assists with coordination of meetings, committees and departmental annual special events such as but not limited to: External Advisory Board, Department Awards Banquet, Faculty Retreat, and Student Open House. Coordinates the communications and collaborates with development personnel to develop relationships with CSE alumni. Manages all aspects of special events.
Serves as coordinator for departmental seminars; distinguished guest speakers. Assists with promotion and tenure; faculty reviews and external awards nominations, as needed.
Qualifications
Required: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience plus 2 years of experience
Desired:
demonstrated ability to work with a high level of autonomy; knowledge of social media trends; detail-oriented with excellent communication and organizational skills; experience with fundraising or in a fund-raising environment; experience in writing, editing, publicity, marketing, publication production and disseminating news releases
Additional Information:
The target hiring range for this job profile is $51,000 - $67,000. The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limit to, education, years of experience, internal equity, etc.
