Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree or Pharm.D. from an approved school of pharmacy and registration by the state board of licensure is required.
  • A current license to practice pharmacy in New Hampshire is required.
  • Candidates must remain free from exclusion under the OIG and SAMS Medicare/Medicaid lists.
  • The role requires knowledge of drugs, including indications, contraindications, dosing, side effects, and proper administration.
  • The role requires the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel.
  • The role requires knowledge of policies and regulations pertaining to the disbursement of pharmaceutical drugs.
  • The role requires the ability to maintain quality, safety, and infection control standards.
  • The role requires the ability to supervise and train assigned staff.
  • The role requires knowledge of related accreditation and certification requirements, if applicable.
  • The role requires skill in using personal computers and related software applications.
  • The role requires the ability to assume essential responsibilities and duties in the absence of the Pharmacy Manager.

Responsibilities
  • Interpret and fill drug orders.
  • Provide patient information and counseling.
  • Act as the alternate store leader and manage ongoing pharmacy functions in the absence of the Pharmacist-In-Charge or Pharmacy Manager.
  • Contact and confer with physicians regarding prescription questions or irregularities.
  • Dispense prescriptions, compound medications, and prepare intravenous admixtures if applicable.
  • Monitor drug therapy for contraindications, interactions, allergies, and appropriateness.
  • Maintain patients' medication records.
  • Maintain inventory and records of controlled and other drugs as required by law.
  • Supervise pharmacy technicians in their routine duties.
  • Provide drug information to professional staff and patients as necessary.
  • Participate in inventory control programs, including ordering, inventorying, and monitoring correct pricing and quantities.
  • Attend and participate in required programs, committees, meetings, and facility or pharmacy functions.
  • Participate in educational programs for professional staff as necessary.
  • Participate in pharmacy orientation programs, pharmacy staff meetings, and in-service educational programs.
  • Participate in activities to resolve unsafe and unsanitary practices.
  • Provide customer communications and service.
  • Participate in the Performance Improvement Program.
  • Maintain regular attendance in accordance with established policies.
  • Report allegations of impropriety promptly to the Compliance Department.
  • Comply with Maxor's Ethical Business Conduct policy and Compliance Program.
  • Complete required training and ensure departmental staff training is completed as required.
  • Ensure staff are informed of product upgrades or enhancements in a timely manner.
  • Assist management with hiring and training competent staff as needed.
  • Verify departmental employees' timesheets every two weeks and make necessary corrections before payroll submission.
  • Develop and mentor departmental staff through career coaching, motivate staff individually and as a group, support diversity, and establish an effective team.
  • Assist with initial and annual performance evaluations as needed.
  • Promote teamwork and discipline staff when warranted.
