Requirements
  • 7-10 years of leadership experience in corporate development, FP&A, M&A, private equity, or other transaction-related / due diligence experience
  • BA / BS degree required (Accounting/Finance preferred) | MBA or CFA preferred
  • Excellent business judgment and persuasive oral/written communication skills
  • Strong ability to lead a team through creation of financial models from a business concept to commercial agreement signature with ability to rapidly and accurately deliver that information in a meaningful simplified way to executives and leadership teams
  • Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in independent desk research (competitive intel, data subscriptions, etc.)
  • Advanced proficiency with commercial deal and valuation modeling techniques including three statement models, discounted cash flow and market multiple modeling and scenario-based modeling techniques (e.g., Monte Carlo simulations)
Responsibilities
  • Support, in a leadership role, the evaluation of a wide range of business opportunities, including M&A, investments, commercial partnerships and other strategic options
  • Lead the team in performing dynamic financial analyses, associated metrics and sensitivity/scenario analyses that guide decision-making among senior business leaders and Corporate / Business Development teams
  • Lead due diligence efforts and conduct extensive research on industries, potential partners, and competitors and communicate findings and recommendations to senior management and the executive team
  • Independently lead the team in calculating and aligning on appropriate negotiating ranges in commercial deals/partnerships with executives in partnership with the Alternative Profit Deal Committee
  • Partner with business teams to maintain a clear and consistent risk-adjusted deal and partnership pipeline for Kroger's Alternative Profit portfolio including translation of potential impacts to long-range planning and prioritization of workload and intake process for the Corporate Development Finance team
  • Lead the partnership with our Commercial Finance and Accounting teams on appropriate set-up and transfer of long-term FP&A responsibilities for new business lines or partnerships including assisting with initial capital and business case requests and flow-through impacts of structures on underlying results post-close
