SUMMARY
The Associate Director of Operations, Center for Biometric Analysis (CBA), is responsible for ensuring streamlined and efficient operational functions across diverse areas within the department. This role involves overseeing cost recovery strategies, digital platforms, infrastructure management, staffing allocation, and managing personnel to guarantee the highest standards of performance and compliance.
The CBA performs murine in vivo phenotyping for clients, using gold standard and cutting-edge protocols in physiology, neurobehavior, metabolism and imaging. Upholding stringent operational policies and protocols while achieving quality and efficiency goals constitutes the core focus of this role. The incumbent will spearhead the implementation of policies and systems to optimize overall operational functionality and ensure client satisfaction.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate the utilization of space and oversee the maintenance and retrofit of a 21,000 square foot barrier facility that comprises procedure, animal holding, and surgery rooms and the specialized equipment contained therein.
- Supervise the development and continual improvement of database systems and quality assurance programs, and ensure their implementation.
- Lead initiatives aimed at improving animal welfare, personnel safety and competency, and ensure compliance with the policies of the offices of Safety and Animal Welfare.
- Create, implement and maintain systems and processes for planning projects, tracking progress, managing data and identifying and compiling metrics.
- Ensure the achievement of departmental targets, including operational efficiency and financial health.
- Deliver the annual operating budget that incorporates projections of future service demand; assigns service fees; determines hourly labor rate; and delivers a sustainable labor utilization model including justification for additional headcount.
- Allocate and manage staffing resources for diverse projects and initiatives.
- Oversee operations personnel management including scheduling, training, coaching, and performance evaluation.
- Liaise with various internal departments, such as Customer Service, Finance, Logistics, Information Technology, Engineering, Environmental Health and Safety, Comparative Medicine and Quality, Animal Care and Operations, and Product Management, to accomplish departmental objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Excellent business communication skills.
- 4+ years of experience in team leadership.
- Minimum eight years of successful operations program management experience.
- Proven ability to lead, train, and mentor staff effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills and team-oriented approach.
- Proficiency in optimizing complex operations for efficiency and quality.
- Advanced analytical and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lead and build key relationships across diverse organizations.

Education: Bachelor’s required/Master’s preferred
Experience: 4 years required/ 6 years preferred
Supervisory: 4 years required/ 6 years preferred

Pay Range:$111,488 - $186,656
