Requirements
  • Two years of experience as a maintenance technician or in a similar position.
  • Knowledge of the methods, practices, tools, equipment, and materials used in building and mechanical trades.
  • Knowledge of occupational hazards associated with power tools and equipment and the necessary safety precautions.
  • Knowledge of repairs and maintenance for hotel furniture and fixtures.
  • Knowledge of safety and security measures, including reporting or correcting hazardous conditions immediately.
  • Knowledge of maintenance-area training checklists and emergency procedures.
  • Working knowledge of preventative maintenance, electrical systems, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning, and plumbing.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Ability to stand, lift, bend, learn, read, concentrate, think, and communicate.
  • Ability to push or pull 100 pounds unassisted and lift or carry 60 pounds unassisted.
  • Ability to stand for eight hours, bend, stretch, reach, climb ladders, crawl, kneel, and work close to the ground for extended periods.
  • Ability to see and hear.
  • Ability to diagnose malfunctions and defects in mechanical and similar equipment and determine corrective measures.
  • Ability to perform minor repairs to in-house plumbing, electrical, refrigeration, kitchen equipment, and heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with staff, guests, and upper management.
  • Ability to assign and supervise the work of a few less experienced workers.
  • Ability to practice safety standards, work as a team member, and work within budgetary guidelines.
  • Availability to work any day or shift, including nights and weekends.
  • Ability to maintain guest privacy and provide professional, hospitable service.
Responsibilities
  • Assist the General Manager in the functioning of the hotel.
  • Perform repairs and preventative maintenance to achieve and maintain hotel maintenance quality standards.
  • Provide efficient, courteous, and professional guest service while following hospitality standards, guidelines, and procedures.
  • Supervise, perform, and document the preventative maintenance program according to company and brand standards.
  • Follow and manage work according to company procedures and policies.
  • Maintain maintenance logs, bibles, and checklists on schedule.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, repairs, and general maintenance on property grounds.
  • Use and care for hand tools, power tools, and equipment appropriate to the assignment.
  • Assist with guest issues while maintaining a professional and caring attitude.
  • Diagnose equipment malfunctions and determine appropriate corrective measures.
  • Maintain the facility and ensure repairs are made to plumbing, electrical, interior building, and exterior building systems.
  • Respond to work orders in a timely manner.
  • Train maintenance staff and designated associates on responsibilities and safety.
  • Work with associates regarding their roles in property upkeep, safety, and security.
  • Maintain paperwork according to company standards.
  • Ensure the maintenance department and applicable staff have sufficient tools for daily work.
  • Perform other assigned duties within physical capabilities.
  • Maintain a physical presence at the hotel and work outdoors when required.
  • Work standing and walking for extended periods while maintaining a friendly, professional image.
Desired Qualifications
  • HVAC certification.
  • Pool maintenance certification.
