Requirements
  • Hold a current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in any U.S. state, territory, commonwealth, or the District of Columbia.
  • Have no history of restricted, suspended, revoked, voluntarily surrendered, or denied licensure in any jurisdiction.
  • Be board certified by the American Board of Radiology in an accepted radiology specialty: abdominal/genitourinary radiology, breast imaging, cardiovascular radiology, general radiology, interventional radiology, musculoskeletal radiology, neuroradiology, or as an authorized user in radiology.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in all required radiology modalities and procedures.
  • Speak, understand, read, and write English fluently.
  • Provide a verifiable educational and training history with no unexplained gaps.
  • Abide by the facility’s medical staff bylaws, rules, and regulations.
  • Meet or exceed currently recognized national standards of care.
  • Provide verifiable evidence of education, training, and competency upon Contracting Officer/Contracting Officer’s Representative request.
  • Adhere to all VA administrative, clinical, and patient safety documentation policies.
Responsibilities
  • Provide on-site general and interventional radiology procedures, including diagnostic radiology, ultrasound, computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, nuclear medicine, and interventional radiography.
  • Provide post-procedure evaluations, follow-up care, and clinical consultation for complications from interventional radiology procedures.
  • Deliver discharge education and coordinated follow-up instructions for all emergency department patients.
  • Attend staff meetings and specialized meetings.
  • Perform ongoing peer reviews.
