HPR is seeking a detail-oriented and driven Staff Accountant to join our growing Accounting team. As a member of the Accounting team, you will play a key role in supporting various accounting functions and processes including facilitating monthly, quarterly and year-end close, posting journal entries, revenue recognition, COGS, posting customer payments and reconciling account balances. This position will be involved with implementing accounting software and ad hoc projects to gain efficiencies to help HPR scale. The ideal candidate is a well-rounded, hands-on individual who brings new ideas to the team and thrives in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. This role reports to the Accounting Manager.
As Staff Accountant at HPR, you will:
- Manage day-to-day financial transactions including posting customer payments and sending weekly AR statements
- Manage, reconcile and review corporate credit card transactions and supporting documentation
- Support month-end and year-end close processes including preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations
- Support the client purchase order and monthly client billing processes
- Work with team to close the month in a timely and efficient manner
- Contribute to process improvements and ad-hoc projects designed to gain efficiencies and streamline current processes
- Provide accounting support for financial reporting analysis
Required Qualifications
- Completed or pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 1+ years of relevant accounting experience
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
- Proficiency in accounting software; experience with QuickBooks or NetSuite, a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities
- Outstanding organizational and time management skills, with a strong attention to detail
- Ability to maintain high standards of confidentiality and professionalism
- Excellent interpersonal skills and strong verbal and written communication skills
- Self-motivated and proactive with a strong work ethic
