  • Ability to perform repetitive motions involving lifting, keypad entry, chopping, filling, and sealing packaging, and to use both hands to grasp, grip, move, or operate objects and equipment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of student information.
  • Willingness to travel to multiple schools based on site needs and maintain a flexible work schedule.
Responsibilities
  • Assist with the daily preparation of the school lunch program.
  • Set up and clean serving areas for timely student service, including dishwashing and sanitation of workstations.
  • Follow HACCP standards and use and clean kitchen equipment properly while observing safety precautions.
  • Serve meals daily in compliance with school food regulations and health department sanitation standards.
  • Take and record food cooking and serving temperatures as required by HACCP standards.
  • Follow menu and recipe instructions and prepare food according to required temperatures, appearance, and portion sizes.
  • Assist with unloading and properly storing delivered food items.
  • Learn and operate the point-of-sale system and reconcile monies daily for accuracy.
  • Communicate with Nutrition Services staff, school staff, students, parents, and other community members while providing customer service.
  • Communicate effectively in written and verbal form, including through electronic mail and computers.
  • Participate in required training, including PGI classes, and complete USDA mandatory professional standards training hours annually.
  • Pursue regulatory updates and provide sustainable solutions.
  • Assist with the preparation, service, and sale of meals, including washing, cleaning, peeling, cutting, and chopping fresh fruits, vegetables, and meat items.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
