The Role
The Head of Thought Leadership is a critical role at With Intelligence that requires a strategic approach, creativity and operational excellence. The role will involve working across the business in delivering a variety of insights and content streams that highlight unique market insights on the alternative asset management market powered by With Intelligence data, and support the end to end customer engagement journey.
As Head of Thought Leadership, you will drive the creation and development of engaging data-led and content-led research that showcase differentiated and in-depth insights on the alternative asset management industry, and highlight the benefits of With Intelligence’s data and expertise. You will be an experienced leader in thought leadership, research or insights with an entrepreneurial mindset and passion for leveraging data to reveal compelling market insights and uncover market trends.
A high energy individual with a strong execution track record, you will focus on existing customers as well as the broader asset management community, using innovative and creative storytelling formats across multiple digital channels but also in person events and engagements, continuously evolving how insights are delivered to the market. As part of active market engagement, you will work towards increasing mind share and positioning With Intelligence as a source of unique and essential insights, data and analytics.
This is a hands-on role with a view of building your own team. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will be responsible for creating compelling thought leadership content and insights propositions that differentiate our products and services in the market.
Responsibilities
- Devise, direct and implement the Thought Leadership strategy, working with proposition leads and functional stakeholders (including sales, marketing, customers, editorial, and data research)
- Build in-depth, high quality and robust, data-based analysis highlighting and creating essential market insights
- Create compelling, on-brand data reports and visualizations that inform and engage readers. These will include interactive web pages, reports, market overviews and charts, visual essays and more — from concept through completion
- Contribute to product development strategy by leveraging deep understanding of markets, customer activity, competitor products and market trends, and providing input into development of new products and features
- Build and manage an initial team of two analysts, being accountable for its professional success and growth, setting the strategic direction and team priorities
- Partner with data research, editorial and events teams to leverage our extensive proprietary database, intel and industry connections to drive a pipeline of industry reports, briefs and analytical content as well as new product opportunities
- Collaborate with the product marketing and brand teams to design and develop content for our digital channels, including our brand website
- Create and manage a set of scheduled data reports whilst also fostering an agile environment to experiment with ideas and act quickly on new data sets / trends
- Ensure all content has a clear purpose aligned to the overarching brand content and product strategies, business objective=es and key KPIs
- Identify data-driven insights and trends from large data sets, with a focus on quality and accuracy
- Act as an ambassador and raise With’s profile as a source of essential insights, data and analytics on alternative asset management, with industry bodies and through active market engagement including speaking at industry events and with the media
- Extensive experience producing research commentary and data analysis including compelling market facing thought leadership across multiple formats and delivery channels
- Strong business and data acumen, reporting capabilities and focus on measurable outcomes
- Willingness to experiment, take risks and creatively think of new angles to interpret data from across the business, while maintaining a high standard of accuracy in published content
- Strong analytical skills, with fluency in Excel and preferably SQL. Additional data science and programming skills highly desirable
- Strong delivery and execution track record, highly organised and attentive to detail
- Ability to angle content for a specific audience and a passion for data-driven storytelling
- A strong relationship builder who can work collaboratively with and influence stakeholders across diverse teams at all levels of the company
- Clear understanding of responsive design, content and conveying complex information in a way that readers can easily digest
- Affinity to the asset management industry, alternative investments / private markets, and/or asset allocation is a significant benefit
- Relevant industry experience, ideally in business information services or asset management
