  • BS, MS, or higher degree in instructional design, education, or related field preferred
  • 5-7 years experience in an Instructional Design role required
  • 3-5 years experience doing Instructional Design in a Residential Solar Company preferred
  • 3+ years experience developing Safety training preferred
  • 2-3 years experience leading or working as a part of an Instructional Design Team preferred
  • Proven working experience in instructional design, Knowledge of adult learning theory and models, and assessments

Responsibilities
  • Designs, develops and updates curriculum, courses, instructional materials, and other instructional information consistent with adult learning theory for delivery in online learning, Instructor Led, hybrid courses, and face-to-face courses. Confirms course objectives are current and reflected in newly developed courses.
  • Creates interactive and engaging learning experiences, curriculum and course content as well as learning activities, assignments, and assessments that enhances retention and transfer.
  • Develops instructors and facilitation manuals; coaches trainers on how to effectively deploy the learning exercises, activities and effectively facilitate the training program and designs.
  • Keeps current on best practices in instructional design.
  • Assists subject matter experts in defining course outcomes and objectives. Designs and develops engaging, interactive, and instructionally sound materials that address various learning styles.
  • Designs and produces learning materials in a variety of formats, including print, graphics, audio, video, demonstration instructions, animation, and multimedia, to support learning objectives.
  • Collaborates with subject matter experts, team members, etc. to solve technological and other challenges.
  • Ensures any courses developed are compatible with the Learning Management System
  • Leverages all existing tools and resources to maximize effectiveness and quality of courses along with ensuring efficient development.
  • Stays current and learns new technologies and applications to assist course design.
  • Completes professional development to keep current with rapid changes in technology and higher education.
  • Ensures all training programs have clear training objectives and learning and behavior change can be adequately assessed.
  • Performs all other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor.
