The Risk Policy Officer is a strategic professional who stays abreast of developments within own field and contributes to directional strategy by considering their application in own job and the business. Responsibilities:
The Risk Policy Officer role is to serve as an Independent Operational Resiliency Risk Manager to support oversight and challenge of Citi’s businesses. The mandate of the Independent Operational Risk Management function to oversee and challenge Citi’s Enterprise Resiliency Management organization is expanding to include review and challenge of Enterprise Critical and non-Critical Business Processes, Critical Operations, Global Business Services to include Critical Business Services (CBS) and Impact Tolerances. Primary responsibilities include:
- Support development of resiliency strategy, policy and projects.
- Apply operational risk management guidelines and procedures for identifying First Line of Defense (FLOD) risks
- Pursue continuous improvement and challenge adoption of Lessons Learned during operational resilience related tests, exercises, and simulations
- Support Resiliency Risk Oversight tools development
- Liaison with Institutional Clients Group Risk and other internal and Industry peers
- Ensure Risk Governance framework operates efficiently, and operational losses are operating within the defined Risk Appetite parameters
- Provide challenges on Key Indicators and Material Operational Risks
- Work with FLOD in the review of the documentation and reporting
- Analyze, capture, and report risks.
- Collaborate with FLOD technical Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and management regarding all aspects of Business and Technology recovery planning and testing
- Guide and assist in the implementation of sound and effective resiliency processes and monitoring of Citi’s lines of business (LoBs)
- Evaluate, advise, and ensure effectiveness of Business and Technology capabilities and controls across Citi
- Facilitate and disseminate best practices across all LoBs
- Assist resiliency managers and their teams to manage staff including training and career development plans and to ensure high morale among prevention, detection, and recovery staff
- Champion enterprise resiliency awareness and best practice sharing with various stakeholders and aid in the development of continuity/resiliency risk management training modules
- Raise the level of operational resiliency awareness among country officers and other related staff
This role entails a unique opportunity for building a robust career in Operational Resiliency Risk Management with exposure to the life-cycle of all consumer products in the domestic and international markets.
Qualifications:
- 6-10 years experience in in Business Continuity, Operational Resilience, Technology Risk, or Operational Risk Management desired. Other applicable risk background and skills will be considered.
- Highly ethical and with integrity
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
- Effective listening skills
- Candidates must have effective negotiation skills, a proactive and ’no surprises’ approach in communicating Risk issues, strength in sustaining autonomous views
- Able to work across levels in risk management and also with other operations and business teams
- Excellent Presentation skills – adept at presenting effectively to audiences of various sizes and adapting style as necessary
- Able to identify and influence key decision makers across various levels and functions within the organization
- Able to work in a rapidly changing external environment and support business in a highly competitive and challenging market
Education:
- Bachelor’s/University degree preferred
