Course Description:
EDEC 249-003/004 Global Education & Social Justice
A cross-curricular, interdisciplinary approach to teaching/creating learning experiences for students. It will foster critical thinking and nurture lifelong global understanding, active engagement and participation in relation to questions of social, economic, and environmental justice, by infusing these issues in the classroom.

Teaching Qualification Requirements:
Education:
Master educator with an MA in a relevant field (i.e., curriculum studies, educational foundations – philosophy, sociology, and history of education, critical pedagogy, comparative education) and extensive relevant experience as a school educator/pedagogue/community educator/ NGO organizer and educator)
PhD or equivalent in a relevant field is an asset.
Experience:
1. Expert knowledge of:
Global education issues
Social justice issues in education
Foundational issues in education
Contemporary issues in education
Comparative education
2. Previous successful experience teaching similar course(s) at the undergraduate or graduate level
3. Experience as a school administrator, institutional leader, community leader, NGO organizer and educator, and/or master teacher/instructor in the Quebec educational system is an asset
Other:
Knowledge of the impact and proven record integrating pedagogical approaches anchored to equity, diversity and inclusion
Familiarity using myCourses, ZOOM and other similar online platforms to facilitate quality teaching and learning experiences
Familiarity teaching blended classes is an asset
Familiarity with the application of a variety of digital teaching and learning tools
