Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Seven years of experience in industrial engineering or construction.
  • Ability to travel up to 50 percent of working time.
Responsibilities
  • Apply broad expertise to projects spanning civil, electrical, process instrumentation, and pipeline construction management.
  • Identify giveaway recipients, develop soil management plans, and manage underground dry spoils management and drilling fluid recycling yards.
  • Work with project managers, civil construction managers, contractors, and customers to minimize soil disposal and facilitate compliant clean-soil giveaway.
  • Establish underground soils management yards as needed, track spoils costs and project management plans, and report project status to leadership.
  • Support pre-construction in-situ soil sampling and compile and interpret internal drawings and relevant data for request-for-proposal and contract processes.
  • Renegotiate contractor scope when needed and clarify technical details for contractors, Electric Operations supervisors, and inspectors during construction.
  • Assist with change orders, maintain project documentation, and conduct contractor meetings at job sites.
  • Monitor daily construction activities and ensure safety, quality, cost, and schedule goals are met.
  • Use the workload management database, update assigned projects, review workload analysis reports, and manage the planning process from inception through contract request.
  • Act as the point of contact for construction contractors and ensure contractor plans and assigned resources support project delivery.
  • Obtain resources, services, materials, and information from project coordination, engineering, contracts, and other internal teams to maintain workflow, budget, and schedule.
  • Ensure contractors follow safety plans, environmental and land permits, and company safety rules and processes.
  • Oversee construction inspections and coordinate field inspectors to provide adequate coverage.
  • Communicate engineering and design issues, make or seek cost and schedule change decisions within delegated authority, and request field-engineer verification of test data and as-built documents.
  • Establish construction planning and schedule dates with project managers.
  • Support underground strategy, innovation, and partnership pilots through field execution and data collection.
  • Provide mentoring and training to associate, career, and senior-level employees.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in quality control and contracts.
  • Experience in gas transmission.
  • Experience with project planning tools such as Microsoft Project or Primavera.
  • Job-related experience in contract administration.
  • Nine years of experience in engineering, industrial engineering, or a related field.
