Lead Maintenance Mechanic

Summary Description:

The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading a team of maintenance technicians performing maintenance and repair duties on various manufacturing equipment and machinery to ensure optimal performance. As a Lead Maintenance Mechanic Level II/III, you will play a crucial role in maintaining our production efficiency and ensuring our products are of the highest quality. You will work closely with the project management and production teams to detect issues and resolve them promptly. You will also assist in the implementation of preventive maintenance programs and initiatives.

Essential Functions:

• Supervise and train a team of maintenance mechanics.
• Perform regular maintenance and repair work on various manufacturing equipment and machinery such as conveyors, motors, pumps, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
• Diagnose equipment and machine issues and identify faulty components and repair or replace them if necessary. 
• Work with other members of the maintenance team in identifying and troubleshooting technical issues and offer suggestions for resolution.
• Recommend necessary upgrades and modifications for increased efficiency and longevity of the equipment and machinery.
• Perform routine maintenance procedures such as lubrication, cleaning, and inspection of equipment.
• Work with the project management team in identifying and modifying equipment to meet production demands while maintaining safety standards.
• Develop, improve, and maintain the computerized maintenance management system in Odyssey.
• Perform preventative maintenance per system requirements.
• Schedule and assign all work orders through the computerized maintenance management system in Odyssey.
• Follow all safety regulations and company policies regarding safety.
• Work around a wide variety of equipment, chemicals, and machinery; must be always aware of safety hazards. 
• Coordinate with production and manufacturing teams to minimize machine downtime and improve overall efficiency.
• Perform all other job-related tasks as assigned

Requirements

Skills or Experience Required:

5+ years of experience in a maintenance mechanic role, preferably in the aluminum casting industry.

Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, with an emphasis on industrial machinery.

Proficient in the use of hand and power tools, welding equipment, and other specialized machinery.

Ability to work independently or as part of a team, meet deadlines, and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety standards.

Other Position Demands or Requirements:

Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
