  • Bachelor’s degree or U.S. equivalent in Accountancy, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field, plus 3 years of professional experience as an Accountant, Internal Auditor, or any occupation, job title, position utilizing Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • 3 years of professional experience performing financial reporting related to fund accounting, in accordance with AICPA Investment Companies guidance.
  • 3 years of professional experience applying American and European waterfall distribution methodologies in private equity or fund accounting.
  • 3 years of professional experience utilizing CRM systems including QuickBooks or Allvue.
  • 3 years of professional experience adhering to fund compliance requirements.
  • 3 years of professional experience performing cash flow management and forecasting.
  • 3 years of professional experience utilizing Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • 3 years of professional experience performing private equity, partnership accounting, and alternative investment fund accounting with capital activities and investor reporting.
  • 3 years of professional experience utilizing accounting and private fund structures including waterfall, carried interest, and fee calculations.
  • 3 years of professional experience coordinating annual fund audits and tax processes including preparing and reviewing supporting documentation.

Responsibilities
  • Review wire instructions for investments, distributions, and invoice payments; monitor and reconcile Cash flows; and respond to accounting-related investor inquiries.
  • Review financial statements using investment accounting concepts including capital calls, distributions, purchase and sale transactions, management fees, and valuation adjustments.
  • Responsible for accounting data and documentation to support Capital Calls, Investor Distributions, and profit/loss Allocations.
  • Use accounting software, such as Allvue, ARK PES, and eFront to post transactions and prepare reports; upload notices and reports to investor portals.
  • Responsible for the reconciliation of bank accounts and ensure ledger accuracy through monthly reviews.
  • Support audit and tax preparation processes by compiling requested documents and providing responses to audit/tax inquiries.
  • Apply accounting methods used in alternative investment structures (including private equity, venture capital, and/or real estate funds); Apply principles of security compliance.
  • Communicate with clients regarding accounting deliverables, deadlines, and follow-ups to support service efficiency and accuracy.
  • Assist in training and reviewing work of junior accounting staff to ensure adherence to GAAP and internal procedures under guidance of senior management.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of record-keeping systems and internal accounting procedures.
  • Review preparation and submission of 1099 forms through the Tax1099.com system.
  • Review journal entries in general ledger systems such as Quickbooks, Allvue and other platforms in accordance with US GAAP and fund accounting principles, including partnership accounting.
