Requirements
  • A B.S. degree in engineering or construction management is required.
  • A minimum of five years of related experience is required.
  • A combination of a high school diploma with quality control experience and certifications will be considered.
  • Knowledge of a wide range of construction materials, methods, and techniques is required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite is required.
  • Strong negotiation and conflict-management skills are required.
  • The ability to provide assistance to multiple projects simultaneously is required.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate all on-site quality control activities to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and requirements.
  • Create, update, and maintain the project submittal log and all other project-specific quality control reports.
  • Review shop drawings and submittals for conformance with project specifications.
  • Chair and document weekly quality control meetings with the superintendent and provide written minutes as required by project-specific contract documents.
  • Provide daily quality control reports documenting construction conformance with project standards and address non-conformances in a timely manner.
  • Conduct preparatory, initial, and follow-up meetings to establish the required standards for each definable feature of work.
  • Verify and document that project materials conform to approved submittals, are properly handled and stored, and are acceptable for use.
  • Conduct meetings with subcontractors and the superintendent at least two days before each new phase of work to discuss quality-related issues.
  • Coordinate and document the testing and commissioning of building systems.
  • Maintain the project as-built drawings daily.
  • Assemble and forward project closeout documents, including operation and maintenance manuals, as-builts, and warranties.
  • Stop work when necessary to resolve matters affecting safety, quality, or the logical progress of work.
  • Facilitate the commissioning process.
  • Conduct upfront investigations to identify unusual installation requirements and expedite inspection and sign-off procedures.
  • Challenge requests that fall outside the contract scope.
  • Identify cost-efficient ways to fulfill contract requirements related to specification conformance and system sign-off.
  • Participate in finding solutions when quality control issues arise.
