Requirements
  • A Bachelor’s degree and two years relevant experience or a high school diploma and four years relevant experience.
  • Must be able to read and interpret MEP and fire/life safety construction drawings and floor plans.
  • Must be well organized and able to multi-task several activities at once.
  • Demonstrated a high standard for accuracy and neatness so presented documents and reports are easily read and interpreted by others.
  • Must be able to develop and present educational programs related to safety and compliance.
  • Must have strong communications, relationship, facilitation and presentation skills.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and oversee facilities work and contractors for system service and construction.
  • Develop, implement and direct the Utilities Management program for facilities owned by the Medical University Hospital Authority in coordination with Risk Management and the Regulatory Team.
  • Ensure MUHA facilities are maintained in compliance with Authorities Having Jurisdiction regulations including The Joint Commission, Occupational Safety and Health Administration, Department of Health and Environmental Control, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, and National Fire Protection Association.
  • Provide continuous effort to ensure compliance with AHJ regulations across MUHA facilities.
Desired Qualifications
  • Knowledge of NFPA, SCDHEC, and Joint Commission regulations.
  • Experience with Fire and Life Safety systems such as fire alarm and fire protection systems.
  • Experience in Joint Commission triennial survey.
  • Ability to read and interpret MEP and fire/life safety construction drawings and floor plans.
  • Strong communication, relationship, facilitation and presentation skills (already in requirements but can be listed here if desired).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint (already in requirements but can be listed here).
